What We Look For During School Sports Physicals

When we perform a sports physical, our goal is to determine whether the athlete is healthy enough to safely participate in the activity in question. We’ll begin by asking about your child’s personal and family medical histories, then record their height, weight, and vitals. We’ll then perform a brief physical exam, checking their:

  • Eyes
  • Ears
  • Nose
  • Throat
  • Lungs
  • Abdomen
  • Joints
  • Strength
  • Flexibility

If we determine that your child is healthy enough to participate in their chosen sport, we’ll fill out the school sports physical form (please be sure to bring this with you to the exam).
